Information Visitors Submit
Search Terms
When a visitor enters a name, location, or other search detail into a search tool on the site, that query is sent to the third-party provider that powers the tool. Morgan County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own records.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to review the request and respond. Contact messages are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Like most websites, this site may collect basic technical details when a page loads. That information helps measure performance, detect errors, and understand general use patterns.
- IP address.
- Browser type and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- Referring website, when one is available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support ordinary site functions. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, though some features or measurements may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, functional, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the appropriate partner service.
- To understand which Morgan County record pages are useful to visitors.
- To find, diagnose, and fix technical problems.
- To display advertising that may be based on visitor interests.
Outside Websites and Services
The site links to sheriff pages, jail rosters, ADOC resources, Alabama court portals, federal locators, VINELink, and outside search tools. After a visitor leaves this site, the privacy notice and data practices of the destination site control that visit.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites or deliver interest-based ads. That tracking is handled by the advertising provider, not by Morgan County Inmate Population as an official jail or court record system.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold as a standalone list. It may be available to limited service providers or authorities in the situations below.
- Search partners that process queries submitted through their tools.
- Analytics providers that report aggregate site use and performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security Practices
Reasonable security practices are used to protect site data, but no internet-connected website, email system, analytics provider, or advertising platform can be guaranteed breach-proof. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive information that belongs with the sheriff, jail, court, ADOC, or another official record holder.
Visitors Under 18
The site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted personal information, a parent or guardian may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Data Rights
- Request a copy of personal information held by the site.
- Ask for inaccurate contact information to be corrected.
- Request deletion of personal information where deletion is legally and technically available.
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable law gives that right.
Policy Updates
This Privacy Notice may be revised as site features, partner tools, advertising practices, or legal requirements change. Updates are posted on this page and become effective when published.
